First Aid and CPR Courses

Oil and gas workers, teachers, students, community center employees, lifeguards, police officers, CBSA offices, fire fighters, nurses, doctors, caregivers, childcare workers and many other workers in Alberta are required to be certified in First Aid and CPR Courses. We are partnered with St Mark James Training and are the leaders in these certification programs in Lethbridge. We offer these one and two day courses multiple times per week at our training center in Lethbridge. The most popular workplace approved first aid programs include standard, emergency and childcare first aid.

Standard First Aid, CPR and AED Classes

The most popular workplace approved training program is standard first aid. This two day, 14 hour course, includes training in CPR and in the use of AED’s. Available CPR level’s include “A” (adult only CPR), “C” (adult, child and infant CPR) and “HCP” (same as level “C” but at a health care level). Participants enrolled in this class will learn about a variety of emergency management and safety skills including how to recognize and manage circulatory emergencies such as heart attacks, angina and strokes. Participants will also learn to recognize and manage poisonings, hypothermia, asthma, heat stroke, wounds and skeletal injuries such as broken bones. Certificate provided at the end of the course is valid for 3 years.

Emergency First Aid, CPR and AED Classes

The most popular one day workplace approved course is emergency first aid. This 8 hour class includes CPR and AED training. Participants can partner this class with either CPR level “A”, “C” or “HCP”. Course content includes breathing emergencies such as asthma, anaphylaxis and hyperventilation. Participants will also learn about heart attacks, angina, stroke and transient ischemic attacks. Certificate provided at the end of the course is valid for 3 years.

Standard Childcare First Aid, CPR level “B” and AED Classes

This workplace approved course is a two-day program that is designed for individuals that work in the childcare industry. In this 18 hour course participants will learn about shaking baby syndrome and sudden medical emergencies such as seizures and poisonings. CPR level “B” and AED training comes standard with this program.  Participants that successfully complete this course will receive a workplace approved wallet sized certificate and an optional wall mount award.
