Three popular CPR courses are available for registration. These courses are CPR level “A”, “C” and BLS (also known as CPR “HCP”). These levels are defined based on the victims they treat and the equipment available for rescue. All of the listed CPR courses below do not include first aid certification. All CPR courses include training in the use of automated external defibrillators (AED).
CPR level A and AED
This basic CPR course is designed for individuals who want or need to learn about CPR and AED rescue techniques for only adult victims and with no health care provider resources. Participants will learn about legal implications of providing aid as well as how to stay safe when providing CPR. Participants will also learn how to manage victims of airway emergencies, such as conscious and unconscious choking patients. This course takes approximately 3 hours to complete and participants will receive a workplace approved wallet sized certificate upon completion of the course. This award is valid for 3 years. Blended learning is also available for this course for participants that want to save time in class and to save money. Click here to learn more about CPR level A or to register for a course.Â
CPR level C and AED
This popular workplace approved CPR and AED class includes all of the components taught in the level “A” course but adds additional components for rescuing child and infant victims. Because of the additional components, this course takes slightly longer to complete (5 hours). Typical participants include students, nurses, doctors and other medical workers. This course is also great for new parents as it covers infant CPR and choking rescues. Blended learning is also available for this course. CPR HCP / CPR BLS
This stand-alone CPR and AED course includes all of the components from levels “A” and “C” and adds additional training for health care providers (hence the name HCP). This course, much like CPR level “C”, is designed for health care professional’s such as doctors, nurses and physiotherapists. Participants will learn how to use advanced equipment such as bag-valve masks and use techniques that involve pulse / circulation checks. Artificial respiration is taught in this course. This course is also offered in a blended learning format which can save participants time in the classroom and money. Click here to learn more about CPR BLS / HCP or to register for a course.Â
